Grand Canyon University Booms and SitOnIt Seating Accommodates
December 16, 2013
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Founded in 1949, Arizona’s Grand Canyon University has recently experienced an explosion of growth. Today, the school is ten times the size it was just six years ago. The university’s seating needs have skyrocketed, too. When the school launched a five-story College of Arts & Sciences building to accommodate its growth, it needed seating for classrooms and break rooms. Fortunately, the versatile selection at SitOnIt Seating meant this didn’t have to be a complicated purchase.
WHAT MADE THE DIFFERENCE?
The school was already familiar with the SitOnIt Seating Anytime chair. They were used as break room chairs because they are easy to clean, easy to move (with optional wheels) and came in a wide variety of colors. People at the college liked the break room chairs so much, in fact, that the chairs were often found after students – or faculty – had wheeled them into their own rooms or offices.
The chair has a few features that make it ideal for a college setting. Anytime has a large seat which makes it comfortable for break rooms, but also accommodates all sizes of students. Since it comes in both a task chair and a stool, it can be used in different parts of the classroom – for example, at the podium at the front of the class. And the wide selection of textiles that SitOnIt Seating offers makes the chair a versatile choice. In Grand Canyon University classrooms, Anytime is usually featured in plum to coordinate with the school colors.
Recognizing the chair’s versatility, Grand Canyon University has now standardized on Anytime. And with the school continuing to grow, new classrooms need seating in 2014. With projects like these, SitOnIt Seating is building a strong reputation in education.
